- Garnacha 'Cadalso', 2018, Vino de Montana, Sierra de Grados, Spain -
Small, terraced, northerly-oriented parcels were hand-harvested and de-stemmed prior to fermentation in concrete tanks with natural yeasts selected for maximum expression. Five months ageing took place in concrete tanks without any influence of oak to preserve the purity of the fruit. The resulting wine is a light, delicate and perfumed expression of Garnacha with crunchy blueberries enhanced by subtle floral hints. The wine is fresh, with firm tannins surrounding a core of lively fruit, giving way to a persistent and sustained finish. Drinks beautifully with cold cuts and is an absolute delight chilled for one hour prior to opening.
- Chateau Lestrille Capmartin, 2014, Bordeaux, France -
After picking at optimum maturity and 12 months' French oak ageing, this predominantly-Merlot blend has produced a 'Bordeaux Superieur' of medium body, showing concentrated red fruit aromas backed by delicate cedarwood notes. The palate displays good freshness whilst high quality tannins are evident in the structure. Well balanced and typically velvet-smooth with a powerful finish.
